Most people spend their anniversary going out to dinner or on an elaborate vacation. Bruce and I spent the day working in the yard. The weather has been so up-and-down that it's been difficult to string 2 decent days together. One day it's sunny,
But we have managed to squeeze in a couple fun activities. I went out with the bike club. It was a sunny, warmish day, but the head winds were brutal. Luckily, I parked at the dog park, so didn't have to ride the hill back up to our neighborhood. Don't be fooled - half our members ride e-bikes, so they aren't bothered by hills and wind.
Bruce spent a week in Seattle helping Brian build some shelves. They didn't quite get finished, because Brian's hot water heater decided to spring a leak the second day Bruce was there. The shelves were quite a tricky project, because they had to fit them against the sloping Cathedral ceiling in Brian's bedroom. But Brian being the mathematician had everything measured out before Bruce got there. I can't believe how perfectly-fitted all those shelf joints look.
Janet and I have almost reached the end of the Colorado Trail. Janet only has 10 miles to go. I've got 24 miles left. She'll probably beat me, since digging holes for plants burns a lot of calories, but doesn't wrack up many steps. But I think we'll both finish by the end of this week. Thank goodness. I'm ready to go back to biking.
