Chinese New Year

We celebrated Chinese New Year with Dr Tai and her Chinese students at a local restaurant. Normally this is a fairly small affair (20 or so people); but this year she invited students from the local girls' school, so there were 130 people in attendance! Coupled with the Dim Sum Buffet going on in the main part of the restaurant made for very crowded tables. But in the usual Chinese spirit, the food just kept coming and coming to the giant lazy susans. We were actually sitting off to the side in the karaoke room (instead of a "kids" table, we were at the "adults" table - luckily no one felt compelled to try out the karaoke mikes). This is the year of the Dragon - the only mythological animal among the 12 symbols and considered to be the luckiest zodiac. If you were born in the year 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, or 2000, you are a Dragon. Dragons are dominant and ambitious, driven and unafraid of challenges, prefer to live by their own rules, and have tempers that can flare really fast. Glad I'm not married to a Dragon.
