Pacific Coast

I've got this theme going here lately with water. First the Ozarks, then the Boathouse, now the Pacific coast. This is Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, OR - the third largest intertidal structure in the world. Intertidal means you can walk to it when the tide's out. We were there pretty close to low tide, but the thing about beaches in the Pacific northwest is that the water is COLD. It kind of took my breath away just walking along the beach without my shoes. I can't imagine trying to go out swimming, especially since their water comes down from Alaska. The cold water makes for good salmon dinners though - grilled salmon stuffed with prawns, YUM.
