International Geocaching Day

We haven't done much geocaching in ages, but decided to find one on International Geocaching Day. We walked over to Oak Knoll Park and found the cache (a tiny 35mm film canister) hanging from a string in an evergreen tree. This is a cute little park with an artist guild, children's playground, and sunken garden on the property. This animal sculpture formed a strange sort of courting bench where two people face away from each other. I think mostly the kids use it to climb up on (Bruce said it was kind of sticky).
We continued on our little adventure to an antique mall I saw advertised on the internet (2 miles down the road!). We don't normally see too many antique malls within the city limits, but when we got down there, there were actually several antique stores in the same area. On the way back we saw several people sitting at picnic tables in the parking lot of a sandwich shop called Fozzie's and decided to give it a try. It was the kind of place you'd never think to stop at, because the building looked so unassuming. There were only 2 tables inside (I don't know what they do in the winter), but the sandwiches were really good - worth making another trip back for.
