First Day of Spring

Finally some warm weather. But warmer weather means summer clothes (a.k.a shorts), so I signed up for an exercise class at the Rec Center to get in shape for spring. I usually ride my bike to class, because it's faster than driving, but when I got about a block away from home, I realized my brakes were getting bad. I managed to make it down to the bike shop (with the brakes squealing all the way). Turns out they just needed "adjustment." I watched in awe as the service tech tweaked about 20 different fittings with his little allen wrench. What happened to the old days when you just slapped on a new set of brake pads from Walmart?
I was inspired to get outside and do some spring cleaning - mostly scrubbing all the salt and dirt off the front porch. It took me about 4 hours and a half a bottle of Pine-Sol, but I think the porch looks very nice and shiny - a good place to sit with a glass of iced tea and watch the neighbors walk by, because my muscles were screaming after the combination of my exercise class and all that scrubbing on my hands and knees - too much sitting this winter.
