The St Louis Artist Guild moved into a building just a block away from our house, so I signed up for a class called Experimental Painting. The first class was a bit bizarre, because the teacher gave absolutely no direction except just to put paint on the canvas. Being an engineer, I'm one of those people who needs a little more guidance than that. When I brought my picture home, Bruce thought it looked like the gates of hell. I don't think he meant that in a bad way; the painting was just very, very red with a big purple ink blot in the corner (mostly because that's what the teacher put on my palette). So the next day, I pasted on some newsprint and added a few other colors. All I can say is, it's definitely an "experiment." We'll see what next week's class is like.
