I went to a demo at the local nursery on how to make holiday porch pots using natural elements, mostly pine greenery, dried leaves, and pine cones. It was really interesting watching the lady make different designs just by varying the color or type of accent element. But even though they had bundles of greenery on sale in their shop, I opted to buy one of the pre-made pots instead. I've got too many things on my calendar, but I'll keep this idea in mind for next year.
