The Things We Take for Granted

Two weeks ago, I met with my friends for Game Day. We laughed and joked while we struggled through the rules to a new game (7 Wonders). When we said goodbye, we wondered if we should hug, like we normally do. But that was before the days of social distancing.
Yesterday, Violet turned 7. She was supposed to come to St Louis for a spring break/birthday celebration. But that was before they closed the Arch, the Science Center, and the zoo.
We're only a few days into our self-imposed quarantine for the corona-virus pandemic, but it feels much longer. I know I'm driving Bruce crazy by cleaning out closets and organizing my stuff in an effort to distract myself from the freedom to go out to lunch, get on an airplane, or visit my friends. I'm even considering painting the garage.
On the good side, spring flowers are poking through the ground. If it would only stop raining long enough to enjoy them...
