New Shoes

I went for a long walk the other day in Forest Park - 18,000+ steps. When I got home, my foot started hurting. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until I went online to WebMD and discovered that my shoes might be at fault. Normally I can tell when my tennis shoes wear out, because my toes poke holes in the top. But back in January when I bought these shoes, I tried out a new brand (Saucony) which is evidently made from sturdier fabric than my former Reebok shoes. But while the tops showed no wear, I found out that I'd almost worn the sole away (that green part used to be about a quarter-inch thick!). Not surprising given that I've logged almost 800 miles with the Fitbit challenge that Janet and I are doing. Luckily I was able to find almost the same shoe on Amazon. After trying them on, I swapped out the neon aqua laces for my old blue gray ones and now I'm ready to continue on our virtual walk along the Florida coast.
