You Know You're Bored When...

I watch a lot of YouTube videos. Frankly, I think it's fascinating all the things you can learn from them. So this past week when I was grousing around about all the salt, slush, and dirty road grime that's been tracked into our house from the recent snows, I clicked on a few videos on how to clean the grout lines in your tile floor. It's amazing the things that people try. Some use chemicals they buy at the hardware store. Some use bleach. The environmentally conscious people use vinegar and baking soda. Some even use toilet bowl cleaner. But one guy did an experiment on all the various methods and decided that baking soda and hydrogen peroxide worked the best. So since it was too cold to go for a walk outside, I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you, that guy was right. I'm almost embarrassed to show this picture, because I didn't think my grout was really that dirty until I cleaned a small section. Now the only problem is that I have to clean around the other 171 tiles.

In another moment of boredom, while cleaning out some closets, I found the quilt I started around the time Lincoln was born. (FYI, Lincoln just celebrated his 5th birthday last November.) I'm terrible about starting a project, but not finishing it. So I went down to my newly-painted craft room and sewed on the backing and binding. I think it turned out really nice, but since I don't know any pregnant women, I'll probably add this to the pile of stuff we're taking to Goodwill.
